GRADUATE
SURVEY
We are posting this survey to find out what our former wfla
scholarship winners are doing. We would like to create some feature stories in
the Fraternal Herald magazine and on our website. The answers to the questionnaire
will let our members know what past winners are doing and to encourage young
members to apply for the scholarship.

Calling all Recipes
The wfla Education and Charitable Foundation will be
offering a cookbook for purchase in 2011. It would be an excellent gift
or a great addition to your own collection. The cookbook is a fundraiser
for the Foundation to help provide scholarships for our college-bound
members.
We would love recipes from everyone and hope every
family will contribute to the cookbook. Think of dishes and desserts
that have been a big hit, not only for your family, but also at lodge
gatherings over the years. Recipes that have appeared in the magazine
can be submitted for this cookbook. If you would like to submit more
than one recipe, feel free to copy the form. Recipes will be included in
the cookbook on a first-come first-serve basis. This sheet can be
completed on our website: www.wflains.org/kitchen.asp and printed and
sent to us.
Please read the instructions before completing the
Recipe Collection Sheet. Mail to: Fraternal Department, Western
Fraternal Life Association, 1900 First Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
All recipes must be received by September
30, 2010. Click

Congratulations to our 2010 Scholarship
Winners!
We are
always thrilled to announce another round of scholarship
winners. With college expenses increasing each year it becomes
more difficult for students to reach their educational goals. That is
why wfla is proud to offer 25 scholarships to ease the financial
burden of college expenses.
This year 89
qualified members applied for the National Scholarship. The applicants
were judged by Director of Financial Aid at Mt. Mercy College, Bethany
Rinderknecht; Financial Aid Advisor at Kirkwood Community College,
Matt Falduto; and Director of Financial Aid at Coe College, Barb
Hoffman. Applicants for 2011/2012 school year will be accepted
beginning this September. Applications and all documentation are due
March 1, 2011. Scholarship regulation and the forms may be found on
our website: www.wflains.org under the Fraternal Benefits sidebar.
